Volunteering

At Alpha State School, we see the partnership between the school and home as integral to the successful education of your child.  Parents are actively encouraged to be a part of their child's education.  All parents should feel welcome to involve themselves in school activities.

These include:

  • helping in the tuckshop
  • assist reading groups
  • accompanying excursions
  • assisting with sporting activities and training
  • attending class/school functions and open days
  • helping in the classroom by arrangement with the classroom teacher.

The benefits of parents helping at school include:

  • improved children's learning
  • parents being better informed
  • parents being well-known to other parents
  • your own children being encouraged and aided by your involvement.

Please visit the office to sign the volunteers’ register prior to assisting in classrooms.
