Over the last few years our school has offered dance on a
Tuesday as a morning program activity before school starts. It came about by chance as it was raining and
we couldn’t do sport – students then asked could it be something which was done
once a week.
So every Tuesday morning the BER building is rocking with
students from Prep-Year 10 participating in a variety of line dances and some
partner dances. They have learnt the LA
Hustle and the New York Hustle which are disco dances and have also learnt the
Honky Tonk Stomp which is a country line dance. The Progressive Jive is an extremely popular partner dance which all
students love doing. Needless to say
there are a lot of smiles, modern music playing very loudly and surprisingly
enough heaps of boys participating enthusiastically. Just a little something extra offered at
Alpha State School.
